Long-term stability doesn't come at the expense of progress with Ubuntu. You can be confident that Ubuntu will always work with the latest software and hardware. Point releases are provided for LTS versions to ensure that Ubuntu is compatible with new technologies. They are released in six-month intervals until the next full LTS version becomes available.
